Helen Anderson, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Health Park Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL with her loving family at her bedside.
Helen was bo on April 21, 1923, the daughter of George and Bengtä Anderson. She graduated from Morristown High School in Morristown, NJ. On August 18, 1947, Helen married William L. Anderson in Boothbay, Maine.
Helen was a telephone operator in Morristown, NJ, Springfield, MA, and Herkimer, NY. She was later employed as a department manager and buyer of the china department for Munger's, Howland's and Steinbach. Helen taught Home Bureau classes, enjoyed seashore vacations, playing bridge, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, and gardening.
As a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughters, Rory Turley and her husband Robert of Ilion, NY; Donna Blue and her husband Richard of Bellingham, MA; her son Thomas and his wife, Mary of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Tricia Brandenburg and her husband James of Towson, MD; Michael Turley of Dallas, TX; Stacey Eversley and her husband Phillip of Bowie, MD; Matthew Blue of Easton, PA; Garrett Anderson and Carly Anderson of Ft. Myers, FL; three great-grandchildren, Luke Turley, Braxton and London Eversley; a sister-in-law, Rita Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William, her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Robin Anderson and his wife Sally, Anthony Anderson, and her nephew Charles Anderson.
According to her wishes, Helen was cremated and a family celebration of her life was held in Ft.Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
