Eugene Harper Atchison of Fort Myers died suddenly March 25, 2016 while hunting in the heart of the Everglades. Beloved father of Roben (Faircloth) and Troy Atchison. He was bo and raised in Fort Myers. Atch was 74 years old.
A member of the FMHS class of 1959, Director of the Pioneer Club, proud supports of the NWTF, Organizing Member of the FMHS Multiclass Reunions, and member of many more organizations. Through the years he donated over 15 gallons of blood to Lee Memorial. He was a veteran of the Army and many friends remember him from his days at National Airlines and Stone and Wade Industries.
Along with his children he leaves grandsons Gavin and Chase Faircloth, Son-in-law Philip Faircloth, brother Clayton Atchison and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Marjorie Atchison and brother Terry and his former wife Roberta (Hollis) Atchison.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to .
Services will be held April 8 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Boulevard with a Celebration of Life following.
